Holbrook, AZ

if you happen to find yourself on I40 on the eastern side of Arizona, you have to stop through Holbrook. It’s an old 66 town, but most importantly, it has one of the most iconic Route 66 landmarks- the Wigwam Motel. You may recognize it from the movie ‘Cars’ where instead of Tepees, they were traffic cones. It’s definitely a blast from he past, with the parking lot still holding cars from the era. The Tepees are taken care off, wearing their age well. I check in, and for 70 bucks (after taxes) I had myself my own one bedroom Tepee. The room is clean, with enough outlets and room to unpack and prepare for another day’s travels. The only downside to sleeping in a Wigwam is the shower. If you’re taller than 5’10”, you aren’t going to fit. But c’mon, it’s a Tepee, you can’t fit everything in there.

Overall, I’d stay there again.
